Since the 1990s, radio broadcasters around the world have relied upon circuit switched ISDN to deliver highly reliable low latency voice and data streams. Nowadays, most circuit-switched ISDN networks around the world have been decommissioned completely (or will be imminently). Accordingly, there has been a huge expansion of terrestrial and wireless IP broadband infrastructure to replace ISDN. As a result, Tieline has discontinued ISDN modules as an accessory for our codecs as there is no longer any demand for these products.
In addition, please note that support for ISDN-related issues is limited as our Australian and US offices no longer have access to ISDN lines, which have been decommissioned by the Telcos in Australia and the USA. If you still have access to ISDN in your country, we highly recommend transitioning to IP codec connections as soon as possible, as it is highly likely that your ISDN lines will be decommissioned in the near future. It is worth noting that IP network infrastructure is capable of higher bandwidth connections, at a lower cost, so there are benefits in transitioning from ISDN to IP as well.
