Tieline’s new Gateway Multichannel IP audio codec received one of the broadcast industry’s most prestigious technology honors, the IBC 2019 Radio World International Best of Show Award. The Gateway is a compact and powerful multichannel IP audio transport solution for radio broadcasters. It can stream up to 16 full-duplex IP audio channels with support for AES67, AES3 and analog I/O as standard.
“The Gateway codec heralds a new era in multichannel IP streaming and Tieline is proud to accept this award for broadcast technology innovation,” said Will McLean, Tieline’s CEO. “Broadcasters seek solutions that deliver multichannel IP contribution and distribution with centralized management and a reduced rackmount footprint to simplify installation. The Gateway delivers leading edge AES67 compliant AoIP networking solutions, with flexible control and configuration interfaces and world class reliability over all IP networks.”
The Gateway features Tieline’s revolutionary SmartStream PLUS redundant streaming and Fuse-IP data aggregation technologies, delivering sophisticated redundancy strategies in a simple user interface. It can transport up to 16 mono channels or 8 stereo streams of IP audio in 1RU. This reduces studio rack space requirements and simplify installation. The Gateway interfaces with legacy analog and AES/EBU input sources, as well as newer broadcast plants with AES67 IP infrastructure. An optional WheatNet-IP interface will also be available.
You can configure the Gateway using an embedded HTML5 Toolbox Web-GUI interface. It can also interface with the TieLink Traversal Server and is fully controllable using Tieline’s Cloud Codec Controller.
