Tieline’s new Gateway 4 audio codec has won the prestigious Radio World Best in Market Award to honor outstanding products launched in 2021. This year’s award replaces Radio World’s Best of Show award, normally presented during the NAB Show, which was postponed in October.
The Gateway 4 is a powerful DSP-based 1RU IP codec designed for live remote broadcasting applications, as well as STL or SSL links. It offers two stereo connections, or one stereo and two mono connections, or up to 4 mono connections. The Gateway includes support for AES67, ST 2110-30, RAVENNA, NMOS, AES3 and analog I/O as standard. An optional WheatNet-IP card can also be installed at purchase.
“Tieline is thrilled to receive the Radio World Best in Market Award for 2021,” said Will McLean, CEO Tieline Group of Companies. “This is an important industry award honoring excellence in product design and innovation. We believe the Gateway 4 delivers enormous flexibility for a range of broadcasting applications. It delivers world class functionality and interoperability for IP streaming over WANs, as well integration with AES67, ST 2110-30, RAVENNA, and WheatNet-IP compatible networks.”
The Gateway 4 features hitless packet switching with SmartStream PLUS redundant streaming, as well as bandwidth aggregation using Fuse-IP technology. Its feature-rich and compact design is interoperable with all Tieline IP codecs and compatible over SIP with all EBU N/ACIP Tech 3326 and 3368 compliant codecs and devices.
Configurable through an embedded HTML5 Toolbox Web-GUI interface, the Gateway 4 is also fully controllable using Tieline’s Cloud Codec Controller. The Gateway 4 also supports Ember+, which is an openly available control protocol designed to integrate devices from different vendors into a single software interface.
